Mobile app that gives households control over their entire living situation
The energy industry hasn't given households real control, just bills and confusion. Homewise wanted to change that, and brought us in as their design partner to help build it. Over 8 months we defined the product direction, did the complete website, socials and made all the designs for a mobile platform that gives people in the Netherlands a clear view of where their living situation.

Overview

We designed all the assets to make sure Homewise was launcing in a professional way.
Most energy apps tell you what you spent. Homewise was built around a different question: what if people could actually act on that information? That shift in framing changed everything about how we approached the product. We weren't designing a dashboard. We were designing a new habit.

The Challenge

Homewise had a clear product vision but needed a design partner who could translate that into a real user experience. The challenge wasn't just visual. Dutch households don't lack data about their energy use, they lack context. Raw numbers on a bill don't tell you what to do next. We had to design an app that bridges that gap, one that feels personal without being overwhelming, and useful from the very first open.

Designing for this space also meant working within a product that was still taking shape. Features were being defined, the roadmap was evolving, and the design had to stay flexible without losing direction. Our job as design partner was to hold the visual and UX logic together while the product itself was being built around us.
Homewise

The Solution

A flexible retainer where we designed and delivered all interfaces, data visualizations and graphics, ready for implementation. The app's dashboard translates live energy and housing data into something people can actually read at a glance. Consumption patterns, cost breakdowns, savings opportunities: each one got its own visual logic, designed to inform without requiring the user to already understand what they're looking at. Everything we handed off was built to spec and production-ready.

We treated every deliverable as part of one product, which is why the result holds together visually from the app to the website to the first social post someone sees before they even download it.

Homewise

Final thoughts

Homewise is the kind of project that shows what a design partnership actually looks like in practice. Not a brief handed over a table, but eight months of shared decisions and a product being shaped in real time. We came in when the idea was still finding its form and left with a complete visual system across every touchpoint.
