What should a startup website include when working with a web design agency?

Before you hire a web design agency for startups, get clear on what your site actually needs to do. A startup website has to pull off several things at once: explain what you do, convince people you're worth trusting, and move visitors toward a decision, whether that's signing up, booking a call, or just not bouncing.

The homepage is where most of this happens. You have a few seconds to tell visitors what you do and who it's for. A good agency will make sure your headline, subheadline, and primary call-to-action are all visible before anyone scrolls. Client logos, press mentions, or user numbers should show up early too. Social proof matters more than most founders expect.

An About page is not optional. Investors and early customers want to know who's behind the product. This is where you tell the founder's story, explain why the company exists, and introduce the team. Keep it honest. People can tell when it's been polished into something generic.

A Features or Product page should explain what your product does, how it works, and why it beats the alternatives. Screenshots, a short demo video, or an interactive prototype all help here. Text alone rarely does the job.

A Pricing page cuts down on back-and-forth and filters out leads who were never going to convert anyway. Use visual hierarchy to draw attention to the tier you actually want people to pick.

Testimonials and case studies deserve real space on your site. A quote with a name attached and a measurable result converts better than anything you write about yourself.

A blog or resources section is worth building early, even if it starts small. It signals the company is active, and it gives you a shot at organic traffic over time.

Finally, your contact or sign-up page should be simple. Fewer fields, a clear offer, and nothing that makes someone second-guess clicking submit. A decent agency will test this page rather than just launch it and hope for the best.
