What are the best UI/UX design portfolio examples to inspire designers?

The best UI/UX design portfolio examples aren't just pretty screenshots. They show how a designer thinks, not just what they ship.

Jane Portman's portfolio gets cited constantly in product design circles, and for good reason. She's specific about who she works with (SaaS companies), her case studies are tight, and the copy explains her decisions without turning into a dissertation. A lot of designers could learn from the restraint alone.

Julia Khusainova takes a different approach: before-and-after comparisons for every project. It sounds simple, but it works remarkably well for non-designer audiences like hiring managers and clients who need to see the gap between "what existed" and "what got fixed" to understand the value of the work.

Sagi Shrieber's portfolio has a strong narrative voice. Each case study has a real arc: here's the problem, here's the messy middle, here's what actually shipped and what it did. That structure makes the work feel honest rather than curated-to-death.

If research is your thing, look at Kartik Srinivas. His case studies walk through user interviews, synthesized findings, and the reasoning behind specific design decisions. It's dense, but it shows the work in a way that a screen full of polished mockups never could.

For designers just starting out, Notion portfolios have become genuinely viable. They're fast to put together, easy to update, and handle embedded video and images without much fuss. Behance and Dribbble have thousands of UI/UX examples too, though volume doesn't equal quality there.

What the good ones share, across all platforms: they're aimed at a specific audience, they have a recognizable personal angle, the case studies follow a consistent structure, and they show evidence that the designer actually talked to users before deciding what to build. That last part is what most junior portfolios skip, and it's usually the first thing a senior reviewer notices is missing.
