How much does an agency charge for a website?

What an agency charges for a website varies a lot, and "a lot" is doing real work in that sentence. Scope, platform, experience, and complexity all pull the number in different directions. Here's how the ranges actually break down.

Small or boutique agencies typically charge between $3,000 and $10,000 for a basic informational site. You're usually getting a limited page count, a template or lightly modified design, a contact form, and basic SEO setup. Fine for simple projects. Not enough for anything ambitious.

Mid-tier agencies, which is most of them, charge between $10,000 and $50,000. At this level you get custom design, CMS integration, multiple page templates, animations, and usually some form of ongoing support. For Webflow projects specifically, this range is common. The platform lets agencies move faster than custom code while still delivering polished, fully responsive work, so the pricing tends to reflect that efficiency.

Enterprise agencies working with large organizations charge $50,000 to $250,000 or more. These projects involve complex integrations, multilingual support, accessibility compliance, custom web applications, and dedicated project teams. If you need all that, you already know it.

For Webflow specifically, expect to pay more than a template WordPress build but less than a fully custom-coded site. Most professional Webflow agencies land between $8,000 and $40,000 for a business site, depending on page count, CMS complexity, animations, and any third-party integrations.

Beyond the build, agencies charge for ongoing work too. Monthly retainers covering maintenance, hosting management, content updates, and performance monitoring typically run $500 to $3,000 per month. Webflow agencies often bundle platform hosting fees into these retainers, sometimes at a marked-up rate, so it's worth asking about that directly.

Other things that push costs up: tight timelines, extra revision rounds, copywriting, e-commerce functionality, and CRM or marketing tool integrations.

The most practical way to judge whether a quote is fair is to get detailed proposals from at least three agencies and compare what's actually included, not just the bottom-line number
