How much do brand identity designers charge?

Brand identity designers charge a wide range of fees depending on experience, location, and scope of work. Knowing what to expect before you budget will save you a lot of frustration later.

Entry-level freelancers typically charge between $500 and $2,500 for a basic package. Mid-level freelancers with a solid portfolio usually land between $2,500 and $10,000. Senior or specialized freelancers can charge $10,000 to $50,000 or more for comprehensive work.

Boutique branding agencies generally run $10,000 to $75,000 for a full brand identity system. Large, globally recognized agencies charge $75,000 to $500,000 or higher for enterprise rebranding.

Hourly rates follow a similar pattern: entry-level designers charge $25$75/hr, mid-level designers charge $75$150/hr, and senior designers or brand consultants charge $150$300+/hr.

Several things drive the final number up or down. Deliverables matter most. A logo-only project costs far less than a full identity system covering typography, color palette, brand guidelines, stationery, and digital assets. Research and strategy work adds cost too, and it's often where the real value is. Revision rounds and visual complexity pile on from there.

Geography still matters, even in a remote-first world. Designers based in the US, UK, Australia, or Western Europe charge more than those in Eastern Europe, Latin America, or Southeast Asia. That said, remote work has made it much easier to find strong talent across all price points, so location alone shouldn't drive your decision.

One thing worth saying plainly: don't just hire whoever quotes the lowest price. A weak brand identity creates real problems down the road, from rebranding costs to confused customers who don't trust what they're looking at.
